Raining Cats and Dogs

Weather - Strange Weather Column

South Dogica - For a month now, in the state of South Dogica, a strange phenomenon has been occurring.  When the residents of this area say it is "raining cats and dogs," they aren't kidding.  It is raining all breeds - Yorkies and German Shepherds, house cats and tigers.  These animals are piling up in the streets and causing trouble in the residents' lives.  People have been complaining to the SPCA for help.  The SPCA has been working on capturing all of the cats and dogs, but the pound is already full. People have been moving away because their houses are infested with cats and dogs.

The state of South Dogica is searching for answers to these strange patterns of weather.  They have turned to traditional scientists of weather for help.    Meteorologists are stumped but astronomers have noticed that two new galaxies have appeared and have formed together to make one humongous galaxy.  Astronomers think that this galaxy has been causing the storms.  They are calling this galaxy the Dat galaxy and think that it is a galaxy where cats and dogs live in peace and harmony.  These animals are coming to Earth searching for a new home because their galaxy has recently been taken over by evil fish.

Even though the mystery is solved about where the animals came from, it doesn't solve the problem of what to do with them.  One solution has been to send the dogs and cats to the pound in North Dogica.  When that is full, who knows what will happen next.   If anyone has any suggestions about what to do with these animals, please contact the SPCA.  If you can take one or more of these animals into your home, please call 1-800-cat-meow for a cat or 1-800-dog-ruff for a dog.  Read next week's "Strange Weather" column for an interesting story about snowing fish.
