Life of a penguin: Surprising facts

Usually when you think of penguins you think of the North Pole and Christmas, but they really live in the southern hemisphere and they have nothing to do with Christmas. Some penguins don't even live in the South Pole. Some penguins live in Africa and the Galapagos Islands!

Penguin are very strange compared to other birds. Most bird are at home in the air, but penguins are at home in the water. Even the birds on land are different then penguins but they are alike in some ways. Both birds and penguins have feathers and lay eggs, because if they didn't they would not be birds.

Penguins live in all sorts of climates.  Some penguins live in extreme cold weather and some surprisingly live in a hot environment. The Galapagos Penguin lives in a hot climate, but the Emperor Penguin lives in "very, very" cold weather. The Emperor Penguin has to endure the harshest winter on earth.

Reporter Sean NachoCheese,
I enjoyed the article you submitted. You seem to have answered all of the readers' questions and did a very nice job of presenting the facts about penguins. Great reporting!
